How to increase conversion with a webshop?

Upselling & cross-selling

This can be done, for example, by upselling and cross-selling. In cross-selling, for example, with a nice shirt, you are also going to suggest a nice tie. For example, in upselling, when you select a 20 ml product, you are going to suggest a 100 ml product at a discount for a better deal. 

A customer who is already a customer is easier to convince.

Add a checkout deal

Another important aspect is the checkout deal. When the customer presses the order button, the order already goes through, but at that point you’re going to try to make even more sales with a fine deal. It’s not an additional threshold, but you’re going to propose something extra, like a one-time deal. Often people will then make another impulse purchase which will make you more sales.

An abandoned cart email

You can also work with an abandoned cart or a shopping cart that hasn’t been paid for. Customers have an account, drag something into their shopping cart, but then no purchase follows. At that point, you can send out an abandoned cart email. Where you remind the potential customer of their shopping cart and point out the potential purchase. If you know that 15% of the people never make a purchase, you can still win over a lot of people this way. With this email, you can still convince 36% of these people to make a purchase.

Keep approaching your customers

Keep approaching your customer even after the initial purchase. A customer who is already a customer is easier to convince. Make sure you continue to strengthen the bond through emails, personalized deals and turn more sales on your current customers.
